made with so much fun in 2019
Context: playing with plastic is always challenging, as it is perceived as a cheap material, even though it is great for many things. The point here is to make something that will exhibit its beauty and qualities.
Project: the plan was to find a way to make rings that would work with the machines available. After many tests, from heat-bending sheets to handling melted plastic (hot hot hooot) I managed to shape it around a metal rod that I then turned to the right thicknes, shape and evel of finish (sanding all the way to 3000 grid).
Result: After taking the rings out of the rod the edges still need finishing before being ready, each one is unique and shows the way colors filled the mold.
